Note that normal crops (except for corn) go bad after finishing the growing period. Better crops go bad faster. Gimberries go bad after 10 seconds so make sure to monitor them closely. If you harvest crops, they will not go bad.
Special crops never go bad.
There are cashback upgrades where you trade in cash berries in order to gain more cash when you sell normal crops.
Energy bars can be cashed in to earn more energy per question answered correctly. The benefit is very small so this is generally not useful.
Lottery tickets can be redeemed to earn a random amount of cash. A normal lottery ticket at the end of the game earns about $1500. Lottery tickets do not cost any cash. Their returns are not very good so generally you should only do this during the midgame.
Peppers are grown for speed upgrades to run faster around the farm.
First answer questions, then get water, then plant 2 corn and go get the free corn.
Then go to the research lab and get 50 research.
Fund wheat, sell the free corn, and collect and sell the planted corn.
Get more water and research.
Plant 1 wheat and get more research.
Repeat the cycle going the normal way.
Repeat the farming cycle. Around grape, you should buy 4 pepper seeds and then 3 cash berry seeds. Collect the grapes to make sure they are not spoiling, then get the peppers and purchase the two speed upgrades. After that, get the three cash berries and purchase the first cashback upgrade.
Continue repeating the farming cycle. Around raspberry or watermelon, make sure you have sufficient money, then buy the cheap $250 extra plot. Plant ten cash berries and then eventually harvest them and make sure you have no crops going bad.
When long plants are planting, do research while they are growing to save time.
Never go for the third cashback upgrade because it is far too expensive.
You can also go for the trash collection mission for extra water.
Get enough research to fund all plants.
Repeat the farming cycle.
Monitor your oranges and gimberries closely.
Wait a few seconds between planting oranges so you don't have to later collect many crops in a short amount of time, when some can go bad.
Save up for the gimberry. Monitor it very closely to make sure it doesn't go bad.
Check the time on the clock. If the growing time is longer than the time remaining, don't plant it.
