This page will be populated with questions received relating to reopening.
How long will Phase 1 last for?
Our Phase of reopening will be reviewed weekly; we will look at how we can introduce lockers, open up the dining room and reintroduce ECA as part of Phase 2.
Is Prep available for Day students?
Not currently, we anticipate this will change in a week or so of reopening.
What do students do with PE gear?
The situation in relation to getting changed for PE is being reviewed in light of the DES's guidelines published on August 26th.
Are there specific masks that should be worn?
There are no specific details on masks beyond them being a 'cloth covering'. We would ask students to wear masks (when within 2m of anyone) rather than scarfs or other mouth coverings. Masks should be clean and laundered after a day's use or when dirty or soiled.
What day is Form I girls' hockey on?
Girls' hockey is generally on Mondays & Thursdays - Form I will likely start on 1 day a week, which day is not yet confirmed. We hope to start hockey about 2 weeks after opening.

Not currently; it is presently cash only, all items are €2.50 or €1.00 - it is something that we are looking in to.

Form II have their induction on Tuesday 1st September at 2.00pm and have a full school day on Wednesday 2nd September.
Given that there are no lockers available at the moment, what are students expected to take Into school on their first day back? Assume there is no need to take all text books in.
Students who are due to return books - texts they no longer need - are asked to bring them in on the first day. All other text books should be left at home. Teachers will advise if a text needs to be brought to school for the next class. It is likely that those studying an English or Irish text or novel, will be asked to bring them in for each class; all teachers will advise in class.
Can day pupils still use the arches facilities at lunch break, ie microwave and hot water for noodles?
We hope to facilitate this, yes. However, not for the first week unfortunately - the Pavilion is relocated to the Arches until Thursday 3rd or Friday 4th September to facilitate work around the Pavilion area. After the Pavilion reopens, the Arches will be available with 2 microwaves and the kettle. Students will have to wipe the microwave & kettle before and after use.
The school bus arrives at Midleton College at 7:50am, will it possible for children to go into school at that time?
Currently, we cannot provide supervision of students at this time. Classes start at at 8.40am, students may come on site from 8.30am.
Is after school sudy in the assembly hall for all students? If so how do you apply?, what are the times? Is there a cost? Do you have to stay for the whole session or can you just stay an hour? When does it start?
