Boarding Pod – Boarding is divided into 4 separated pods: Junior Girls, Senior Girls, Junior Boys & Senior Boys. Pods share common room & showering facilities. 7-day Boarders also comprise a Pod.
Returning to Boarding – Board will self-declare their health each weekend.
– Should a child develop symptoms as outlined above, they must stay at home and not return to Boarding. A child with a blocked or runny nose, but no fever, can attend school, but if they require paracetamol or ibuprofen, they must stay at home for 48 hours and parents or guardians should contact the GP to assess whether a test is required.
If Boarding student displays Covid-19 symptoms in school
Student taken to isolation area or isolation room (if during the night)
For Irish students, parents collect child and take for test
For International students, stay in isolation room until tested
Test results notified to the school
All siblings of the student, and parent if a teacher, are withdrawn from school
All classrooms that the student has been in that day are closed until cleaned
Student’s dorm is cleaned
Others in dorm and Pod may be removed from class and isolated until test is returned
Staff are not require to isolate unless they are a close contact
High or very high risk students may be removed from class
Families of students with family in very high risk category may be notified
If negative
Pod returns to class.
Student returns when well enough to do so.
All diarrhoea symptoms need to have been resolved for 48 hours prior to return to school.
If positive
– HSE will be contacted and will manage the situation.
– HSE will notify the school.
– School will follow HSE advice.
– It is likely that the student's pod(s) will be isolated for 2 weeks and be recommended for a Covid test
– A detected case, will not necessarily result in partial or whole school closure.
