My name is Hailey Johnson, I am wrapping up my junior year here at Miami University. I am a K-5 education major and can't wait to finish school and start working in this field. As long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher! Children and learning have a special place in my heart and am very excited to see where this career takes me!

As we know, science sometimes gets pushed to the back burner during the school day. This can be due to crazy schedules, standardized testing etc. As an educator I think that although days can be busy, we have to make time and incorporate science throughout out the day! Although it seems hard, science can be incorporated in many different ways. Through reading texts, brain breaks, team building exercises, educational videos and many others, we as educators can ensure that science is not forgotten about. As we know science is all around us. As a future teacher I will make sure to not separate science from my classroom but include it and explore it daily!

As a future educator, it is important to explore fun new ideas and stay on top of ways to add science into your classroom! Through the website PocketLab, teachers can get advice, ideas and inspiration though others science teachers podcasts! This is a wonderful resource to use, to ensure to stay the best teacher around.
