A graduation plan will outline which classes you need to take (and when) to meet the requirements for your degree to graduate in a specific amount of time. Usually you will need to enroll in 5 classes each spring & fall semester to complete a 4-year degree program in 4 years (if you do not take classes during any summer or winter terms).
If you are a part-time student or find it difficult to do well academically with 5 classes at a time, taking classes in the summer and/or winter terms may be helpful to reduce your timeline for graduation.
Meet with your academic advisor to create a personalized graduation plan. If you have not yet decided on a major, your advisor will help you get started by completing Miami Plan required courses.

Most degree programs will have recommended course plans available that outline which courses you should take each semester to graduate within the program's standard timeline. You can find these by searching Miami's website or ask your academic advisor.
These timelines and course plans are based on full-time attendance. You should create a personalized plan so that you graduate in a timeline that meets your expectations. Review your plan with your academic advisor every semester.
A good way to monitor the progress on your graduation plan is to check your degree audit. It will show the classes you have already completed, ones that are currently in-progress, and the courses you still need to take to complete the requirements for your degree.
You are able to run a degree audit report (DAR) as self-service. For more information on DARs, click here.
If you are a transfer student with previous credits and you're a first year at Miami Regionals, your academic advisor can tailor a graduation plan to include classes you've already taken. This ensures that you can graduate in a timely manner without having to take the same class twice. Credits that you've already earned from transferring will also show up on your DAR.
