Basic Instructions
This Professional Learning platform provides training on evidence-based (EB) early literacy practices that is self-paced and self-guided. If your supervisor referred you to this site, follow your supervisor's instructions. If you are completing this training on your own, follow the instructions provided for each section/topic.
Each section/topic includes the following:
1. Video presentation on the content of the EB practice
2. Resources (Slides, articles, manuals, handouts, summaries, etc.)
2. Activities to practice what you learned
3. Self-reflection
4. Check Your Knowledge quiz at the end about knowledge gained and how you plan to apply it.

This Professional Learning platform was created for the Maui Early Literacy Project as a tool to train your staff.
Because our early childhood partners provide services in different settings - classrooms, home visiting, family-child interaction learning, and family child care - and with different age groups in the birth to 5 age range, guide your staff to the appropriate training sessions.
For example, if your staff do not work in the classroom or with 3-5 year old children, you may skip those training sessions and instead focus on the appropriate age group and setting that you serve. All training sessions can be optional training and/or completed at a later time for additional professional learning.
