Welcome!
Ready to learn more about helping to build our young children's early literacy foundation to give them the best opportunity to be successful lifelong learners.
This website was created by the Early Literacy Project at Maui Family Support Services, Inc., with the support from the Hawaii Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Early Literacy project and Hawaii P-20. For more information about CLSD the Early Literacy Project, click the link below in the Welcome section.
The purpose of this website is to have a Professional Learning Community where Early Literacy project partners and other early childhood educators in the community can have access to training on evidence-base practices in early literacy.
The evidence-based practices for this project are:
SHELLS (Storytelling for the Home Enrichment of Language and Literacy Skills)
Dialogic Reading
Phonological Awareness
Our trainer and consultant for the above evidence-based practices is Lisa Boyce, PhD.
This Professional Learning Community is also a way to provide additional training supports, resources, and a platform for the Early Childhood community on Maui to learn, grow, and communicate with each other.
We look forward to learning together!
