6th Grade Boys (6th period choir): Navy Choir T-shirt, full length khaki school pants, sneakers of any color (neutral color preferred), NO CROCS or sandals. No jewelry allowed, except small stud or huggie hoops earrings, and small rings. Do not wear visible under shirts with the choir-t-shirt. Shirt must be tucked in. Hair must be out of the face. No visible hair pieces allowed.
Intermediate Tenor Bass (7th period choir): Black formal uniform (button down shirt, tux pants, bow tie), black dress socks, black dress shoes. No jewelry allowed, except small stud or huggie hoops earrings, and small rings. All undergarments should be hidden. Hair must be out of the face. No visible hair pieces allowed.
This is an excused absence, but students need to make up any work that is missed.
6th Grade Boys and 7th Period Boys
11:35 - Singers are called to the Choir Room.
- Quickly change into Formal Uniform. Keep all belongings in your bag. Put in a cubby or in a practice room.
- 7th and 8th graders eat Lunch (bring tray to the choir room to eat)
- 6th graders sit on the risers (they already ate in 4th period)
12:00 - Everyone in the choir room.
- Quickly change into Formal Uniform. Keep all belongings in your bag. Put in a cubby.
12:30 - Leave on the bus. No cell phones.
12:50 - Arrive at the Mesquite Arts Center (MAC)
1:00 - Warm Up
1:20 - Concert (2 songs)
1:40 - Sight Reading
2:00 - Load bus and head back to Kimbrough.
2:15 - Take turns changing back into school uniform and HANG UP Formal Uniform with name on it.
- Sit in choir room for the rest of 7th period.
2:48 - Go to 8th period.
Parents are welcome to come to the performance, as long as the rules below are followed.
Do not bring small children to this performance. It is being judged and will be recorded. Small children could cry and fidget.
Hold your applause until after the last song. This allows silence for the judges to write their comments and scores between songs.
Do not enter or exit the auditorium while a choir is on stage. You may only enter or exit when there is no choir on stage.
Maintain absolute silence and stillness while in the auditorium.
