Kimbrough Choir is the only middle school choir that has been invited to sing for the MISD ILT Show "T'was the Night Before" at the Professional Development Center! Our talented students will be performing for all of the upper administration in Mesquite ISD. This is a high honor, and a prime example of the unique opportunities that advanced choirs are privileged to receive.
Here's the schedule: YES, it's quite an early morning!!
6:45 AM - Meet in the Kimbrough Choir room, dressed in Choir Dresses/Formal shirt and pants. BRING YOUR SCHOOL UNIFORM to change into afterwards! We will leave ALL belongings locked up in the choir room, because they have asked us not to bring backpacks or anything with us.
7:00 AM - Bus picks us up and takes us to the MISD PDC.
7:15 AM - Enjoy donuts in warm up room 221 while we wait for our turn to sing.
Once the breakfast starts - KMS & PHS Choirs will wait in the West & South Hall. We will line ourselves up in the proper order while upstairs, then walk downstairs to wait for our cue.
At the end of the orchestra performance (we are 12th) - Enter the room–surrounding the audience– 40 HS + 55 MS students. Do not get near the actors until they finish their scene. The narrator will say: “And quietly, slowly, We started to tire, And one by one lay there, At the foot of the fire.”
After the narration - Poteet and Kimbrough Choirs sing Carol of the Bells.
When the song is over - KMS & PHS Choirs go stand on and around the risers in Area 6. We can bleed over to Area 4 if necessary.
10:30 AM - We will arrive back at school after 10AM, so some classes will be missed. Students will be excused from school, but still need to complete any work missed.
