This concert is required ONLY for the following groups:
ALL 8th grade singers from all classes
Varsity Treble (1st period)
Varsity Tenor Bass (8th period)
Just as the Poteet singers came to our concert to sing with us, we now return the favor for their concert!
Pre-Concert Schedule -
6:20 - Arrive and make your way to the stage
6:30 - Carol of the Bells rehearsal
6:40 - KMS singers go to the cafeteria for pizza
6:45 - Doors open for audience (please wait in the lobby until the doors are opened)
7:00 - Concert begins! We will sing Lullay Alleluia (VT), Santa Claus is Comin' to Town (all boys), and Carol of the Bells (all singers) (which is the last song of the concert).
Students enter through door #5 (facing Poteet Drive). If you can't find this door, students can also enter through the front of the school with their parents.
Navy Choir T-shirt, full length jeans or school pants (no holes), sneakers of any color, NO CROCS or sandals. Hair must be out of the face.
Poteet High School Auditorium
See the Choir Handbook for details on how students are graded for performances.
The concert will begin at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:45 to allow time for private large group rehearsal.
If your child has a sporting event or other conflict, please email Ms. Hoitt asap to tell me the conflict (khoitt@mesquiteisd.org). Pizza is being ordered for them and it would be helpful to know if anyone must be absent.
Parents are more than welcome to come to the concert and watch, but be aware that KMS singers will only be singing one or two songs. Poteet Choir is sure to put on an amazing show that you will enjoy!
Your child will text you when there are 4 songs left on the concert so you can know when it’s time to pick them up. I predict we will be done sometime between 8:15 and 8:30, but please be in touch with your child because there is no way to predict the exact end time.
Our concerts are free and open to the public.
Want to volunteer to help out with the concert? Please fill out this Google Form to join our Parent Club!
If you have small children who might cry during the performance, please sit on the end of a row near a door. We will be recording the performance, and want silence whenever possible.
