NRH20 Field Trip

IMPORTANT UPDATES!!! Read everything below.

Communication:

Remind: For real-time updates throughout the day, join the Remind class. Either CLICK HERE to join through the Remind app, or simply text this message: @kmschoir25 to the phone number 81010. This is mandatory for students and optional for parents.

Partners: Please have your child fill out this short google form to let me know who their partner will be all day. This is just for safety purposes, and making sure no one is ever alone. Some students have already done this (thank you!)

Attire:

• Navy blue 24-25 Choir T-Shirt

• JEANS OR STANDARD DRESS PANTS/SHORTS (This is important because we will be attending part of 7th and all of 8th period). 

  • • Jean shorts are fine if they are at least fingertip length.

• Swimsuit underneath. 

What to bring:

• Swimsuit (wear under your jeans and navy choir t-shirt)

• Clear bag (see itinerary for what to do if you have to bring a non-clear bag)

• Towel

• Underwear

• Swim shirt (optional, but you cannot swim in your choir t-shirt)

• Sunscreen

• Money for extra food, drinks, and souvenirs (remember, lunch is already paid for!)

ITINERARY: 

6:30-6:50 AM - Check in at the table outside the gym doors. If you have only clear bags, you may enter the main doors into the cafeteria. If you have to bring a non-clear bag, they may only go into the choir room (door 22). Drop off your non-clear bag in the choir room, and go to the cafeteria. Sit in the area assigned to your choir class.

6:50 AM - Short meeting in the cafeteria to go over rules and expectations.

7:00 AM - Load BUS #1 (go grab non-clear bags and walk around outside to the front of the school)

7:05 AM - Load BUS #2

Load the buses in the front of the school. Grab non-clear bags from the choir room through door #22. Walk around the school to the buses. 

7:10 AM - Depart Kimbrough.

8:15 AM - Arrive at NRH20 Family Water Park - 9001 Blvd 26, North Richland Hills, TX 76180.

8:30 AM - Place all belongings in a designated area. Students stay in this area until we go sing at 8:45 AM.

9:00 AM - Performance in the tent outside the park with Laura Farnell judging.

9:20 AM - Re-enter the park and disperse to enjoy the park. Stay with your partner AT ALL TIMES. First check-in time will be announced.

TBD - Students will eat lunch together (time will be announced that day), then continue enjoying the park. 

12:30 PM - Start changing clothes and preparing to leave.

1:00 PM - Exit the park and head for the bus.

2:00 PM - Arrive at Kimbrough, gather all belongings, and sit in the Cafeteria.

2:15 PM - Staggered release to 7th period. Students will also attend 8th period. If they need any materials for these classes, they may leave them in the choir room during the field trip.

SWIMSUIT GUIDELINES: 

Boys - Must wear a real swimsuit or swim trunks. You cannot swim in athletic shorts or street clothes. You may wear a t-shirt (NOT your choir shirt) to swim if you want.

Girls - One-piece or tankini only. You may choose to wear a t-shirt (NOT your choir shirt) and/or swim shorts over your swimsuit, but it’s only required if your swimsuit is not a one-piece or tankini.

Other info:

Please eat breakfast and drink some water before you arrive!

Early dismissals must be handled with the KMS front office by calling (972) 882-5900. Ms. Hoitt is not authorized to send a student home early with a parent.

**The waterpark is NOT open to the public on this day. Only choirs participating in the festival will be allowed entrance into the park.**

This field trip is optional for students who have not had ICS or ISS in 2025, and are in good standing with choir (participating in class, attending required events, completing assignments, etc.)
