The following lists the required documents all Special Personnel / guests sailing aboard Falkor (too) must complete 30 days before joining the ship. In order to protect your privacy, your passport and medical information will be separated and will only be visible to the people who coordinate Special Personnel / guest paperwork, and the medical officers, respectively.
A personal portal will be shared with you to complete your personal information, as well as an acknowledgement for the required waivers, and review of the 'Bullying and Harassment' videos.
Required Information:
Medical Profile Information: Seafarers Medical certificates or Doctors letters must be less than 6 month old from date of issuance. Once you have sailed aboard Falkor (too), medical certificates or Doctors letters are valid for two years.

3. Passport and Visas - Please refer to the Passport & Documents page for detailed information about passports, and their validity requirements.
4. Personal Survival Techniques / Sea Survival certificate. It is an International law requirement based on the regulation of the ship, for scientists and technicians engaged in research and who are working onboard, to have specific safety maritime training. Certificate must be STCW Table A-VI/1-1 compliant. If you already have this certification or have any questions, you can send them to dcobain@schmidtocean.org for review and validation. Expired certificates are accepted. ONLY the 'Personal Survival Techniques' module of the STCW Basic Safety Training is required. The FULL STCW Basic Safety Training course is not required.

Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
5. Travel Medical Insurance - It is required by all personnel, regardless of their country of residence, who sail aboard Falkor (too) that they obtain the appropriate
Travel Medical Insurance that includes 'Medical Evacuation and Repatriation' on their policy. If you do not have this insurance, we recommend the Gowrie Group.
(information below) They are very familiar with the type of insurance you will need to sail aboard Falkor (too). Your policy coverage must be for the dates you will be onboard. This coverage must include the two days prior to departure, to the day you disembark the vessel.

Harassment & Bullying videos must be watched by everyone sailing aboard Falkor (too) prior to arrival. All guests will be asked to sign an acknowledgment of watching the videos during the shipboard familiarization and orientation meeting.
