Chief Scientists are required to complete several types of post-cruise reports. Details on the required reports are outlined below.
The Chief Scientist is requested to participate in a post-cruise debrief with the Lead Technician, Falkor (too) Captain, Heads of Department, and key Schmidt Ocean Institute shoreside staff. This debrief will normally be scheduled to occur during the day before or the morning of arrival back into port.
This online form is to be filled out by the Chief Scientist(s), and any members of the science party who wish to provide feedback. The weblink to the report will be provided by the Senior Director of Maritime Infrastructure prior to the end of the cruise. This shall be due within 30 days following completion of the cruise.

This report shall identify overall project outcomes, impacts, and accomplishments, publications, available datasets, and any media material generated. This shall be due within 1-2 years following completion of the cruise.
The datasets shall be shared according to the Participant Data Sharing Release Agreements. The Research Portfolio Senior Manager shall work with all persons responsible for sharing data to ensure the terms of the agreements are met.
As a condition of receiving diplomatic authorization to conduct research in a coastal state’s EEZs, governments require Chief Scientist(s) to submit a preliminary project report, a copy of their data, and a final project report. The reporting requirements and designated due dates of these reports will be outlined in the authorizing document(s).
