Thrilled to be joining the Whitman Counseling Department in July 2024, Ms. Fletcher, a lifelong Bethesda resident and Whitman grad, has been a Professional School Counselor for 23 years, 22 of which have been in Montgomery County. Ms. Fletcher has spent the last nine years as the Resource Counselor at Albert Einstein High School and prior to that, 13 years at Sligo Middle School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education from the University of Delaware and her Master's in School Counseling from George Washington University. Ms. Fletcher is known for creating a warm, welcoming environment, where students, caregivers, and staff can thrive. When not working, Ms. Fletcher loves reading, watching sports, and spending time with her husband and two children, both of whom are also MCPS graduates, and her three dogs.

Mrs. Fang is a native to Montgomery County and graduated from Wootton High School many years ago. She started her career as a school counselor at a middle school in Oakland, CA. While she loved working there, she eventually decided to return to Maryland where she is originally from. Prior to working at Whitman (where she's worked since 2015), she worked at Quince Orchard High School for five years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, swimming, baking, and catching up on her latest Netflix shows!

Ms. Johnson is excited to join the Whitman Counseling Department in the 2026-2027 school year. She has been a school counselor for 32 years. Prior to working at Whitman, she worked at Montgomery Blair High School, Winston Churchill High School, and Northwestern High School (PGCPS). She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology & Sociology from American University, her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Howard University, and Post-Master’s Study in Family Counseling at Bowie State University. She is an enthusiastic counselor who is committed to guiding students to success. Ms. Johnson enjoys reading, the arts, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Kapner has served the families at Whitman for many years.  He earned his undergraduate degree from Goucher College.  He earned his Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Loyola University.  Mr. Kapner has a passion for working with children and helping them be successful.  In his spare time Mr. Kapner enjoys spending time with his family.

Ms. Kessler earned her bachelor's degree in at Cornell University and her MPH degree from Columbia University. After serving as a Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador for ten years, she made the career switch to college advising during Covid and has been working at MCPS for the past five years. She is currently a member of the University of Maryland Admissions Advisory Board and the Potomac & Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC) and is thrilled to be sharing her expertise in postsecondary planning with the Whitman community.

Ms. Bright is a Montgomery County native and graduated from Sherwood High School. She earned her B.A. Degree in Psychology from Hood College and Master’s Degree in Organizational Psychology from Walden University. After spending 17-years working at the Food and Drug Administration, a career change was made in August 2025 which landed her at Whitman High School. Her extensive background in psychology and the administrative field, have allowed her to provide top notch support to students and families within the Whitman community. Outside of work, she’s a mom of three young men (19, 17, and 15) that enjoys spending time with family and friends, catching up on various TV shows and Netflix documentaries, listening to music, and cheering on my two high school football players.
