Message from PTA President

GREETINGS FROM THE PTA PRESIDENT

Welcome back to our returning and new Dolphin families!

My name is Karen Herrera Morales and it brings me such joy to serve as your new PTA president. A little about me: I was born and raised in NYC and have been a part of the Olney community going on 6 years now. My husband, who is from Maryland, is in law enforcement, and together we have 3 boys; two in Belmont (Go Bulldogs!) and one 8th grader in Rosa Parks.  I am excited to begin my new role this year and hope to get to know more of the wonderful community that is Rosa Parks Middle School.

About Rosa Parks PTA;  we are not an exclusive club dictated by one person; rather, we are a vibrant group of individuals from all walks of life, representing the rich diversity within our community; parents, teachers, staff, and students make up the PTA.  If you care about our community’s schools and students, you already belong in the PTA. Together, we can create the best possible environment for our students, staff, and families. Together, we can be the reason someone feels welcomed, loved, heard, seen and supported. We invite you to join PTA For Your Child because we can do more together than apart.

Your membership in RPMS’s PTA supports critical academic needs, is an active voice on decisions that impact your child’s health, safety, and quality of education, and builds a stronger, more inclusive school community. There is no wrong or right way to be involved – anything you can give, whether it’s time or money, will support your child’s potential. It only takes 5 minutes.  Register or Renew your membership to PTA For Your Child!

This year, we are thinking outside the box, in order to bring enrichment and support to each child and or teacher. If you seek more information about our PTA and ways you can get involved, please don't hesitate to contact me at president.rpmspta@gmail.com. We are open to suggestions or ideas and would love help with upcoming events.
