The 63rd annual Daytona 500 began at 1:30 p.m. EST, one hour ahead of the initial starting time, due to oncoming inclement weather. The 41 cars took to the green flag, waved by fictional character Bart Simpson, at Daytona International Speedway in front of over 150,000 fans.

Dayton James Webber, a 27-year-old professional cornhole player and quadruple amputee, was arrested and charged as a fugitive in Albemarle County, Virginia. He is being accused of shooting a man in the front seat of his car during an argument on March 22. The shooting took place in La Plata, Maryland, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s office.

The Seattle Seahawks dominated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, winning 29-13. The Patriots did not score their first points in the game until the 4th quarter, becoming the first team since 1973 to not score in the first three quarters of the Super Bowl.

41-year-old Lindsey Vonn had her Olympic comeback dreams crushed as she suffered a devastating crash only 13 seconds into her downhill final on Feb. 8.

 After returning from retirement this season after 6 years, the American alpine skier had set her sights on becoming the oldest alpine Olympic medalist.
