Start a Club

Don’t see a club that speaks to your passions? Start your own and build a new community at B-CC! Here's how to get started: 

Step 1: Develop an Idea

Consider: 

• Is my idea unique (e.g. are there other clubs that already exist about this topic?) 

• What is the objective (goal) of my club?

• Do I know at least 2+ other students who would be interested in joining this group?

• How will I communicate with my club members?

• Will my club require tryouts or any pre-requisites for membership?

• How will I consistently advertise my club? (some common methods include: Instagram, daily announcements, posters initialed by an administrator, signing up for a table at the club fair)

Step 2: Find a Teacher Sponsor

Consider: 

• Do I know this teacher relatively well?

• What time and where will my club meet? 

• Have I discussed ideas with my sponsor for club meetings? 

Step 3: Contact Mr. Ziebro (ECA Director) at mark_j_ziebro@mcpsmd.org and wait for an email of approval. 

Once these steps are complete, congratulations! You are officially a B-CC club leader. Consider these best practices to ensure optimal success and engagement.
