The extracurricular activities program at B–CC High School offers many opportunities for students to develop and expand their interests, talents, and service to the school and community, and to participate actively in school life. These range from interscholastic sports to honor societies and the many service and special interest clubs and organizations. A description of each of these activities can be found at the Clubs page.
Eligibility
To be eligible for any athletic or extracurricular activity, a student must have obtained a 2.0 grade point average (GPA), with not more than one grade of E, for the previous nine-week grading period. (The first nine-week eligibility period for the school year is determined by the fourth-quarter grades from the previous school year.) Serious behavior infractions or excessive unexcused absences may be sufficient reason for declaring a student ineligible at any time. For more detailed information regarding eligibility policies for participation in extracurricular activities, please refer to the Student Handbook.
Studies show that finding a community - especially in high school - leads to higher academic performance, improved health, and an increased sense of belonging in and out of school.
