Students and Service members previously enrolled in Mount Carmel College of Nursing may apply for readmission to their program of choice. The Petition for Readmission form is available from the Office of Academic Advising.
Related to service-members, under the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, a student who is called to active duty in the United States Armed Forces or the National Guard or Reserve for a period of more than 30 days is entitled to reenroll in the same program, with the same enrollment status, number of credits, and academic standing as when he or she was last in attendance at Mount Carmel College of Nursing.
Readmission is allowed provided the student meets the following requirements:
the cumulative length of the student’s absences from the college because of service on active duty does not exceed three years (period may be extended in certain cases, as reviewed by Academic Advising);
The student must give oral or written notice of their intent to return to Mount Carmel College of Nursing within three years after the completion of the period of service to Academic Advising and the campus SCO. A student who is hospitalized or convalescing due to an illness or injury incurred or aggravated during the performance of service must notify the College within two years after the end of the period needed for recovery from the illness or injury. A student who fails to apply for readmission within these periods does not automatically forfeit eligibility for readmission but is subject to Mount Carmel College of Nursing’s established returning student readmission policy.
the student has not been discharged from the Armed Forces with a dishonorable or bad-conduct discharge.
For any student to start the re-enrollment process, they must contact an Academic Advisor and request the application prior to the start of the semester they wish to return. Students applying for reinstatement must work with their Academic Advisor to complete the Petition for Readmission form. All returning students and service members must pay any outstanding account balance in full before being permitted to return to the College.
