This site is being revised for the 25/26 Academic Year. Please refer to the "24/25 Catalog" for current information.
Students are asked to follow the below Chain of Command to resolve concerns or disputes. The Chain of Command is an organized structure in place at many health care institutions to ensure everyone knows how to report and when. It allows for effective and efficient communication and proper resolution of conflicts/concerns. Begin at the start of the Chain of Command, if you still have concerns you can continue following the chain until you believe a resolution has been reached.
Concerns about grades
Conflicts with instructors
Reporting (Serious Safety Events and major misconduct should immediately be reported to the Compliance Office using this online form)
All communications should be in e-mail requesting meetings along the way. The communication should, preferably, be in an SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) format and identify the steps taken to resolve the issue at the prior level.
If it is a faculty issue and resolution is not reached at the Course Coordinator level, the concern may be referred to the appropriate Faculty Program Leader.
If a faculty resolution is not reached at the level of Faculty Program Leader level, the concern may be referred to the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health.
Academic Chain of Command:

If this is a staff issue and resolution is not reached at the Director level the issue should be escalated to their direct supervisor. If still no resolution can be found, then the concern should be brought to the President of Mount Carmel College of Nursing.
