Ms. Eva Urban Hughes is the Social Studies Department Head at Masconomet Regional School, where she has served since 2022. Ms. Hughes has dedicated over twenty years to educating students in the western suburbs of Boston and the North Shore.
She is currently teaching two classes at Masconomet Regional High School: AP Politics and Government and CP U.S. History and the World and she has taught the entire breadth of Social Studies classes grades 9-12. She advises Bridge USA, a student group that fosters civil discourse around contemporary issues.
Ms. Hughes is a good resource for parents and students regarding scheduling issues and any other programmatic questions that you may have, grades 7-12.
Mr. Ryan Quinn is a graduate of Masconomet Regional School and has been teaching here since 2004.
Mr. Quinn is currently teaching Honors U.S.History and the World as well as World Religions. He is also the Alpine Ski Coach for Masco and was named All-Scholastic Coach of the Year for skiing 23-24.
Mr. David Mitchell has been teaching at Masco since 1995.
Mr. Mitchell is currently teaching AP U.S. History and Honors U.S. History and the World and Sociology. He also co-teaches American Studies: Stories of Protest and Progress with Ms. Stanley of the English Department. He will be teaching AP African American Studies in the school year 25-26.
Mr. Mitchell is now coaching track at Masco and has previously coached boys soccer here as well.
Mr. Jim Maciak came to teaching after a career in the military and private industry. He has been at Masco since 2008.
Mr. Maciak is currently teaching CP U.S. History and the World and World War II Stories, a popular elective that he developed.
Aside from teaching, he also advices the Global Cultures Club here at Masco.
Mr. Peter Magner holds the position of Social Studies Teacher at Masconomet Regional High School, where he has served since 1998.
He is currently teaching Sophomore American History I, World Studies, The 1960’s and Stories of WWII. Mr. Magner is the JV 2 Boys soccer coach and Asst. Model UN Advisor.
Mrs. Laura Greeley holds the position of Social Studies Teacher at Masconomet Regional High School, where she has served since 2007.
She teaches 10th grade American History, as well as electives such as Intro to Sociology, Digital Society, and Gender Studies. Mrs. Greeley serves as the advisor for Model United Nations, Environmental Club, and UNICEF Club.
Mrs. Kim Marini holds the position of Social Studies Teacher at Masconomet Regional High School, where she has served since 2004.
She is currently teaching Sophomore American History and Early Childhood Education.
Mr. Jared Scarpaci has been a dedicated educator at Masconomet for over 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience gained from teaching in Boston, Saugus, and Danvers before finding his professional home.
Currently, Mr. Scarpaci teaches Advanced Placement (AP) Human Geography, World History, and Sports in Society. Beyond the classroom, he has served as the Director of Athletics at Masconomet and continues to contribute as the boys' soccer coach.
Mr. David Walsh has been a high school social studies teacher at Masconomet for over 20 years.
Currenlty Mr. Walsh teaches CP and Honors World History as well as Economics. He coaches Boys Track in Winter and Spring.
Outside of the classroom Mr. Walsh enjoys traveling in the United States and Europe and exploring the outdoors.
Mr. B.J. Muller has been a high school social studies teacher at Masconomet for over 20 years. This has been his professional home his entire career.
Currently Mr. Muller teacher Advanced Placement European History, Experiencing Psychology and CP and Honors World History as well as Ancient Civilizations.
Outside of the classroom Mr. Muller enjoys skydiving, square dancing and painting with watercolors. He also coaches JV Boys Soccer at Masco.
Mr. Ben Hanchett has been a Social Studies teacher at Masco for twenty years.
Currently Mr. Hanchett teachers CP and Honors World History as well as World War II Stories, Experiencing Psychology and World Religions.
Mr. Hanchett was formerly the Student Council advisor. Outside of the classroom Mr. Hanchett enjoys time with his family.
Mr. Brian Mintz has been a Social Studies teacher at Masco for over twenty years.
Currently Mr. Mintz teachers AP Psychology, Intro to Psychology and Experiencing Psychology.
Mr. Mintz is the advisor for the Psychology Club here at Masco at enjoys taking students on field trips to Harvard and MIT to explore brain science and neuropsychology.
