Hot tub pumps can lose their prime, becoming air locked after replacing a pump or refilling the tub. The fix is to bleed air from the system and allow the pump to resume moving water.
Open the front panel of the hot tub to expose the drain hose. Remove cap from the end of the hose and turn red handle.
Once you have water coming out of the drain hose, close the valve. Check the tub to see if air lock is gone. If not, proceed to Step 2.
Turn the pump(s) on one by one to determine which one is not moving any water.
Loosen the connection by hand or with the help of Oil Filter Pliers or a Strap Wrench.
Air will bleed out, once water begins to come out of the connection, tighten collar and restart pump.
Your tub should function normally at this point. If not, contact us for help on further diagnosis of the issue.
