Central idea: History can be a journey of discovery.
What a fantastic week we have had! The children really engaged with our trip to the Tower of London and were fascinated seeing where Guy Fawkes was held during his questioning.
Continuing our discovery of history the children have also spent time building 2-storey houses in the style of the Tudor homes of 1666 to re-enact the Great Fire of London which we will use as part of an immersive day. This started with making and baking bread, taking us on a journey from September 1666!
In writing, the children have been considering the role of Samuel Pepys during the Great Fire of London and have created a diary imagining that they were present at the time. They have used some exciting vocabulary to describe feelings, emotions and actions creating some powerful writing.
In maths, we have started our topic of shape where the children have been able to recognise 2D and 3D shapes.
