Central idea: Transportation systems can be developed to meet the needs of the community.
In the last two weeks, we have deepened our study of how transportation systems develop to meet needs. Firstly, we looked at transportation systems we have in Britain and how they help support our needs such as visiting places or delivering goods - we also considered how transport has evolved over time to support our changing needs. Importantly, we also looked at the pros and cons of these systems (as a debate), especially thinking about if new ones are always needed - this enabled us to consider the decisions which need to be placed into these systems. More recently, and linked to our writing, we've been looking at the environmental impact of the transportation systems - even though they help us meet our needs, there is an impact from this.
