Central idea: The appreciation of artforms can be determined by the individual.
Each class started this module with a trip to the London Tate Modern. Both classes enjoyed looking at the artwork there and immersing themselves in it. In class, they have been looking at different artforms and discussing how people can appreciate art in different ways. Seeing the art in the museum was a great way to have conversations about how art can be used as a form of expression and the different ways of making art.
In English, we have been looking at the different word classes, identifying similes, metaphors, hyperboles, alliteration and onomatopoeia. They have written some great setting descriptions using this language and creating an atmosphere for the reader.
In maths, we have begun to focus on fractions. Continuing to practise times tables at home will really help the children in their work with fractions.
