1Spruce Learning Update

Central idea: People need specific skills and qualities to do different jobs.

We have thoroughly enjoyed investigating line of inquiry two - an inquiry into the skills and knowledge people need to do their job. As part of the inquiry we visited the library to know more about the skills and knowledge a librarian needs to do his/her job. We also took part in a career panel where we asked questions to a range of adults working at the school to find out more about their role. Questions included:

Do you find your job tiring?     What is your job title?     What do you do?    What skills do you need?

In our writing we have written a job advert for our dream job and applied for it demonstrating the skills and knowledge we have. For example, children explained how they are creative, have good listening skills and are friendly.  Next week we are starting inquiry three looking into how to be successful in a role.

We have been exploring equal groups in Maths this week and children have enjoyed demonstrating their understanding of sharing. Their knowledge on numbers and mental arithmetic is improving significantly and I am very proud of their hard work and their achievements so far.

Reminder:

Friday 26th May 2023 - please can children dress up to school as a job/career they would like to be.
