Central idea: Exploring identity can develop a sense of belonging.
It has been another busy and exciting week! We've had so much fun and the children continue to amaze us with their enthusiasm and dedication to learning. We continued our inquiry by thinking about our community and what this means to us. The children have then begun looking at Marden by exploring maps on Google Earth, locating routes to key amenities and thinking about all the people who help us. They were fascinated by the layers within Google Earth that enabled them to locate where they live and explore the wider vicinity. The children extended this learning to create their own physical map of Marden including a key for ease of reference
In maths, we have been looking at number bonds to 10, and the relationship with numbers discovering fact families and the related facts in number. We have also spent lots of time counting in our 2's, 5's and 10's as well as introducing them to the 3 times tables to support wider learning.
In English, the children have been writing expanded noun phrases, time conjunctions to support the creation of a story maps to enable them to write their own narrative based on our core text 'Croc and Bird'.
