Principal's Message
We started the week with our celebration of Harvest Festival. Reverend Nicky kindly joined us for this event and shared the importance of Harvest. We extend our thanks to all those who generously contributed donations; these will be transported to the local food bank to support our local community.
On Tuesday morning, Oak and Juniper class had the delightful experience of welcoming a mobile petting zoo. The children thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the various animals and discovering fascinating facts about them. Some of our more adventurous learners even had the courage to hold a snake!
On Tuesday afternoon, we were visited by Marden Sporting Memories group. The group kindly came to talk to some of the children about their experience of sport and what they enjoy about it. The group then competed against some of the children in games of indoor Curling and Boccia. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play these new sports. Thank you to Sue Eltringham for organising this event.
Wednesday morning saw Year 3 embarking on an exciting trip to the Marden Sports Club, where they participated in engaging hockey and cricket activities. The children relished the opportunity to immerse themselves in these sports, and we are particularly grateful to Mr McMillan for organising such a wonderful event.
The Sports Club offers a wide range of exciting sporting activities. For those interested in playing more hockey, Junior hockey training takes place every Sunday morning, for more details please email: juniorhockey@mardensportsclub.com. Fee-free places and equipment is available for those who may find cost a barrier. Additionally, Junior tennis coaching occurs on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings; further information can be requested at tennis@mardensportsclub.com. Fee-free places are also available.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Office Messages
To help us maintain a healthy and smoke-free environment for all our pupils, we kindly ask all parents and carers to refrain from smoking or vaping while on the school premises.
This request specifically applies to the area immediately outside the main pupil gate and anywhere on school grounds. This includes the use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our school environment clean and safe for our children.
Following a near miss on the zebra crossing this week and to ensure the safety of all pupils using the crossing, we must strictly enforce the following rules:
DO NOT Park on the Zig-Zag Lines: These lines are there to ensure drivers have a clear view of the crossing and that pedestrians are visible. Parking on them puts children’s lives at risk.
DO NOT Stop or Wait on the Crossing: This blocks the crossing point, forces children and parents into the road, and severely limits visibility for approaching traffic.
The safety of our children is paramount, and we need everyone's cooperation to prevent a serious accident. We understand that parking can be challenging, but a child's safety should never be compromised.
If someone other than the usual authorised person will be collecting your child, you must notify the school office in advance. This can be done by calling or emailing the office before the end of the school day.
Pupils will not be released to anyone under the age of 16.
To safeguard our youngest pupils, all adults collecting children from Reception will be asked for the security password on file. Please ensure the collecting adult knows this password.
This is a reminder to parents to submit a consent or decline for the FLU vaccination via the Immunisation Service’s website https://www.kentimmunisations.co.uk/
Please submit your preference by 4pm today, 03/10/2025.
Our school’s unique code/URN is: KT148116

Superstars @ Marden
A very well done to Freddie for being awarded 'Man of the Match' trophy. He plays for Barming Youth Under 8s and scored the winning goal for his team on Saturday.
We want to send a huge shout-out to Jocelyn in Year 6 who has bravely had his hair cut to donate to the Little Princess Trust. This amazing charity uses hair donations to provide real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions. They also fund vital cancer research.
What a selfless and thoughtful gesture. We are incredibly proud of you Jocelyn for choosing to give both hair and hope to others.
