Meet the Directors

Ms. Rachel Michtom - Director of Bands

Ms. Michtom is the Director of Bands at Marblehead High School, where she leads the Concert Band, Jazz Band,  and Marching Band. Ms. Michtom also teaches other various music electives, including Guitar, Piano, and Music in Film. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Education from Lawrence University and a Masters of Music in Music Education from Longy School of Music. This is her second year at Marblehead. In addition to teaching, she also plays flute and other woodwinds in various gigs in the Boston area. Ms. Michtom is proud to have led the Marching Band in the National Anthem at Fenway Park this past fall, and to make her international conducting debut in Ireland this April with the music department. In her free time, Ms. Michtom enjoys working with the Girl Scouts of America, swimming, watching baseball, and playing with her cat, Ophelia.
