The MHS Jazz Band is a full year course that rehearses on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm-8pm.  Jazz Band does not count towards your 2 elective requirement because it does not meet during the regular school day. 

 The standard instrumentation of the Jazz Band is Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Bass (electric and string), Piano, and Drum Set. The ensemble will also accept Clarinets, Vocalist, Flutists, and Violinists. If you are interested in Jazz Band, please speak to Mr. Kenneally.

The group performs at various Jazz Festivals and Local Concerts.  In the past the group has performed at Berklee Jazz Festival, Endicott Jazz Festival, and Northeastern MAJE Jazz Festival to name a few!

The ensemble focuses on exploring many forms of Jazz, Rock, Funk and Big Band music.  The hope is students will grow to love these styles of American music as well as grow more as musicians. 

Enrollment in the MHS Jazz Band requires a successful audition and  is an Honors Level Course.
