Use the Know Show charts and the assessments to guide you as you outline the sequence of activities linked to each focus standard you have identified for the unit. The learning progression should clearly build base skills and engagement and work students towards mastery of the standards. The language from the Know Show charts should be evident within the learning progression.
For example, if you would like to use a Socratic Seminar as an Application of new content activity you should list both the activity type (Socratic Seminar) and the associated Knows and Shows-- Socratic Seminar: analysis of how current events impact American foreign policy.
*The activities listed in the Unit Learning Progression should be a high-level overview which demonstrates how the Know Shows will be scaffolded throughout the unit. Daily Lesson Plans will include a much more detailed learning progression.
