Microsoft 365

Manchester Adult Education is part of the Growth and Development Department of the Manchester City Council. The Council uses Microsoft 365. Your @manchester.gov.uk email account is a Microsoft account which gives you access to all the Microsoft 365 apps. We use this mainly for corporate communication and communicating/working with colleagues. We use our Google accounts when teaching and communicating with learners.

Microsoft Outlook keeps you connected and protected, with your email, calendar and files all in one app and includes intelligent email, a task organizer, calendar reminders and contacts. 

Microsoft Word is a popular word processing software used to create, edit, and format written documents, with features like spell check, the ability to save and store documents, and the ability to add images. 

Microsoft PowerPoint enables users to create engaging presentations using slides that can contain text, graphics, sound, movies, hyperlinks, and other objects. 

Excel is an application for creating and editing digital worksheets. Excel’s features include adding, editing, and formatting data, creating tables and charts, and visualizing data trends. 

OneDrive is the Microsoft cloud service that connects you to all your files. It lets you store and protect your files, share them with others, and get to them from anywhere on all your devices. 

Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration platform complete with document sharing, online meetings, and other useful features for business communications.

SharePoint is a platform within Office 365 that provides an extensive range of collaborative and creative capabilities to share, manage and access information from almost any device.

Microsoft Forms grants users the ability to easily create surveys, quizzes and polls. Forms collects responses in real time, and you can use built-in charts or export to Excel for data analysis.
