Manchester Adult Education primarily uses Google Workspace for Education in teaching and communicating with learners. Your @man-adulted.org.uk email account is a Gmail account which gives you access to all the Google apps essential for teaching.

If you have forgotten your login details to Google or MAES network computers, please email the MAES Helpdesk.

As a teacher, you will need to use the Admin panel to troubleshoot 2 of the most common problems encountered by the learners: they have forgotten their password or they are asked to prove their identity.

Google Workspace for Education Apps

With Gmail, your email is stored safely in the cloud. You can get to messages from any computer or device with a web browser. You can also join or start a video meeting in Google Meet right from Gmail. Add Google Chat to your Gmail inbox and get all the features of Chat directly in Gmail. You can also quickly organize and find important email, as well as read and draft email without an internet connection. 

Google Drive is a free service by Google that allows users to store files online and access them from anywhere through the cloud. It offers web-based applications for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. It eliminates the need for emailing or using USB drives since files can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. Additionally, it facilitates file sharing, making collaboration easier.

Real-time meetings by Google. Using your browser, you can share your video, desktop, and presentations with teammates and students. 

Google Classroom is an app designed to help teachers and students communicate and collaborate, manage schoolwork paperlessly, and stay organised.

Google Docs is an online word processor that lets you create and format documents and work with other people. 

Google Sheets is a web-based application that enables users to create, update and modify spreadsheets and share the data online in real time. 

Google Slides is an online presentation app that lets you create and format presentations and work with other people.  

With Google Forms, you can create surveys or quizzes right in your mobile or web browser—no special software required. You get instant results as they come in. And, you can summarize results at a glance with charts and graphs.

Google Jamboard is a virtual collaboration tool that lets users work together on a whiteboard-like interface in real time. This whiteboard syncs with your Google Workspace account and can be shared with other Workspace users, similar to Google Docs or Sheets. Each user that has access to the "Jam" can open it on their device and modify it. 

From direct messages to group conversations, Google Chat and Spaces help teams collaborate fluidly and efficiently from anywhere. 

With Google Calendar, you can quickly schedule meetings and events and get reminders about upcoming activities, so you always know what's next. 


YouTube is a free video sharing website that makes it easy to watch online videos. You can even create and upload your own videos to share with others. 


Google Sites is a free website publishing platform where you can easily create a gorgeous, engaging website for your business
