Our Tayvallich in 2051...
The pupils of Tayvallich Primary School were asked to share what they think it might be like in the places they live in 30 years time.

Crinan in the future
In the future I think that Crinan will be a lot busier and I think there will be less people that would call Crinan their home. The cause of this being more hotels, therefore more people brought in on short term employment. Therefore there will be less need for locals to work in the hotels when they could have short term employees that would like in the hotel this meaning no need to travel there in the morning and no cause to be late. More hotels means more tourists and more tourists could mean more littering which in turn will affect the wildlife.
How do we change this?
More bins, signs urging people not to litter, paper bags instead of plastic, more trees, less food waste and more electric cars. You could also change this with a wildlife group picking up litter and such like plus monitoring and caring for sick animals.

Crinan in 2051
I think that there will be more ‘full time’ households working and lots of tourists and holiday houses here. More fishing, hotels and shops. I also imagine there are more roads, more houses and in the summer it will be very busy. There will be a huge seaweed company who will send it all over Scotland. I think there will be a big viewpoint on top of the hill and more interest in Crinan wood, maybe even a scientist or two monitoring the wood. More bins, more trees, less red squirrels, more grey squirrels, stags and ducks, less moorhens and dolphins. Less litter and more pollution in the air. Less birds.
How to change
More trees, bins and no plastic. Pick up litter, walk instead of driving, green electricity, paper bags instead of plastic bags, don’t waste, instead of binning stuff recycle it or reuse it failing that reduce it and electric cars. Wildlife protect group monitoring it. Picking up litter.
Tayvallich in 2051
I wanted to know what Tayvallich was like in 2051 so I built a time machine and went forward 30 years. When I got there I was in a solar panel farm. I saw the power cable. It was the size of 3 BUSES! The village wasn’t that far so I ran to it. When I got there, there was a 6 legged robot clearing rubbish, 16 space rockets all in a row and 4 more Jura ferries! What’s more everyone had electric cars! All the boats had electric engines and the kids had golf buggies to get to school. It was amazing but it was almost dinner time. I needed to get back to my time machine. I ran to the solar panel farm and got in my time machine and went home for tea.

I think there will be more electric and automatic things like cars and bikes. It will get hotter and the waters will rise.
In 30 years there will be too many holiday homes which will interfere with wildlife habitats and I would want more wild gardens for our bees and insects.
I can see the pub and shop having a charging station and houses will all be eco-friendly because they will all use wild power, solar power and tidal power.
Tayvallich in 30 years
I think there will be more people.
I think there will be more houses and holidays.
I think there will be less animals.
I think there will be more recycling.
I think there will be a bigger beach/.
I think there will be a bigger tennis court.
I think there will be a bigger shop.
I think there will be a bigger school.
Tayvallich in 2051
There will be new cars - electric cars.
There will be more roads into Tayvallich.
There will be different kinds of boats.
New houses and hotels.
There will be less animals because there will be more people.
Pet food will be made with different things.
Roads might be made with different things, they will be different colours.
I-phones and laptops will be more modern.
New drinks and food at the shop.
More buildings. I think there will be a bank.
Different money, there will be a new king and queen.
There will not be a school, the children will have to go to Lochgilphead.
I think in 30 years Tayvallich will have electric cars.
I think there will be a double track road.
The pub will have an upstairs and a big decking.
Beside the pub there will be a mansion.
I think there will be more red squirrels and swans.
There will be lots more people.
I think there will be bigger caravans.
We need to have a certain amount of fish that fishermen can catch, and so we don’t have no fish but we can still each fish. We also need to maybe use sails or sailing boats to help stop air pollution.
If you are going to start a fire to heat your house use wood because coal does something bad I am not sure but oh well. You can also use poo he he hee.
Now we might be using electric cars because diesel and petrol have ghot fumes and they are not good.
Tayvallich in 30 years
I think in thirty years time Tavallich will have more electric cars. Which means there will be more charging points across the village. There will be more houses and more people. So we would need a bigger play park, more boats and bigger pontoons and piers.
If we are to keep living here we need to think of ways to stop burning fossil fuels and start using more sustainable and environmentally friendly fuels.
JHouses in Tayvallich could become more eco. By not burning fossil fuels using wind turbines, wave power, hydris and solar panels to make our energy.
We can also start buying more local food like venison and shellfish and get more organic fruit and vegetables to reduce our carbon footprint. We can also compost some of our food waste and reduce the amount of unnecessary rubbish that we throw away.
Also need to have protected areas for animals because they have their own animal system and we don’t want to disturb their lives.

I think in 30 years time there’s going to be tarmac in Achnamara. I also think there’s going to be a big hotel, a big mansion and pub. There will be lots of tourists.
I think we should use electric cars. We should reuse plastic. We should build windmills.
We should protect the environment.
We should protect wildlife.
Eco houses with a turf roof instead of slate which would reduce mining.
Solar panels would generate electricity.
Electric cars would reduce carbon footprint.
Wind turbine would generate electricity.

More parks in the cities
