Don’t listen to Karen when she tells you which Disney resort is the “best.” Disney World has SO many great resorts to choose from and each one has their own personality. Not every resort is right for every person. Think of me as your resort match-maker!
There are quieter resorts close to Magic Kingdom that are ideal for little bitties who need a midday nap then want to head right back and go on Dumbo AGAIN. And they might have to leave early to get ready for bed, but they don’t have to miss the fireworks! They can watch them right from the balcony of their rooms before bedtime with the show music playing and everything! Can you imagine a better time story than that?!
Those resorts though may not be the best ones to put MeMa and PawPaw who only want to be in the parks a little and hang out at the resort more. I love putting multi-generational families at the Boardwalk Inn. MeMa and PawPaw love being out on the water in the Friendship Boats, watching the live entertainment and perusing the shops and restaurants along the boardwalk. When the young folks get back from a long day in the parks there are so many great dining options right there for everyone to enjoy together. Then everyone can catch the Epcot Fireworks from Jellyrolls before heading inside for some great entertainment that's fun for the whole family.
Bringing teens to Disney World? Don’t teens always love to run off and “hang out?” I love putting my families with teens at the gorgeous Saratoga Springs Resort. It’s a quick boat ride to Disney Springs so the family can have a great meal together at any of the incredible restaurants then the teens can go off on their own and go shopping, bowling or see a movie.
See what I mean? And I've just touched on a few of the Disney owned resorts - I haven't even gotten to the Good Neighbor Resorts - that Waldorf Astoria is AMAZING for luxury-lovers! So the moral of this story is the BEST resort for Karen isn't necessarily the best resort for you - unless you're a Karen too in which case more power to you and go in peace with God! Is it Old Key West Karen? I feel like maybe it is....but if you say it's some shady place off I-4 I'm not even surprised....
