INT 380.01

Boozhoo! You are on the ancestral territory of the People of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi.

INT 380: Anishinaabek Lifeways is a special topics course that tells the story of the Indigenous people of Michigan: their past, present, and future. Andrea Riley Mukavetz (IRIS) and Aunty Becky Matthews (community member) co-taught the class. This semester, we envisioned and implemented the next steps of an ongoing project to create Indigenous visibility on GVSU’s Allendale campus. Each tab highlights the group work from class members that takes you through the project and provides the context and framing to understand the core concepts of Anishinaabeg beliefs systems. As a group of fourteen, seven of us are Indigenous-identified and seven of us carry multiple settler subject positions. Some of the students are graduating this semester. This project is an offering to the next generation of Native American Student Association (NASA) members and Farm Club members. Miigwetch for touring our site!
