Recycling Water is another option we thought of to fit the needs of the SAP. This idea hasn’t been flushed out as fully as the others, and we are still iterating this. It would essentially be that the SAP can find better ways to recycle the water they are already using in their irrigation systems and well sink they have at the farm. We can also use in-line UV radiation filtration to recycle the water, though this comes with a bigger cost at the beginning. This idea addresses the need of water for washing vegetables at the SAP. This builds on the insight from our research into water efficiency and the ways that farms can utilize better resources to not waste as much water.
Below are sources to describe more about filtering rainwater and the risks of using unfiltered water, which would be fine for washing the vegetables but not for drinking. The other talks about UV Filtration and it's benefits for filtering water collected by rainwater. These studies can be useful for our project because it demonstrates the choice the SAP would make when deciding if and how they’d like rainwater to be filtered and used. If they don’t require potable water, then a cheaper and simpler filtration system may be best.

We have Andrei's prototype above, and Gerardo's prototype below
Please provide us some feedback on our prototypes on the main page! It will be used to refine our final deliverables to the SAP, and we would appreciate it very much :)
