To apply to our Undergraduate Special Education Program, the Bachelor of Science in PreK-12 High and Low Incidence Special Education, the first step begins with your online application to the Undergraduate Admissions. Click on the Apply button at the top right of the page. After your application is submitted, you will receive an email requesting transcripts and other documents. Then, an email will be sent with a checklist showing what has been transferred and the remaining requirements for the Teacher Education Admission Requirements.

When applying for a Master of Science - Special Education degree program, look for these titles on the application based on the program in which you wish to apply: MS in Special Education (High Incidence), MS in Special Education (Low Incidence), or MS in Special Education (Gifted).
When applying for an endorsement only, look for these titles on the application based on the program in which you wish to apply: Non-degree Special Education (High Incidence), Non-degree Special Education (Low Incidence), or Non-degree Special Education (Gifted).
Graduate Application Requirements:
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on last 60 undergraduate hours
Completed application to the Graduate School
A personal statement addressing your reason for beginning a program in Special Education
Two outside personal recommendations
Inclusion of an official transcript documenting completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university
Send a copy of your teaching license if you are a licensed teacher.
Once you have been accepted into the program, you will be assigned an adviser who will help you develop your program of study. If you will be teaching special education on a waiver in the state of Kansas (in need of a provisional license), visit Teaching on a Waiver.
