To apply to our Bachelor of Science in PreK-12 High and Low Incidence Special Education, the first step begins with your online application to the Undergraduate Admissions. Click on the Apply button at the top right of the page. After your application is submitted, you will receive an email requesting transcripts and other documents. Then, an email will be sent with a checklist showing what has been transferred and the remaining requirements for the Teacher Education Admission Requirements.
Program Requirements:
General Education Courses - 34 hours
Secondary Education Requirements - 9 hours
Secondary Education Core Restricted Courses (Admission to Teacher Education Required) - 6 hours
Special Education Concentration Courses - 48 hours
Special Education Practicum - 12 hours
Electives - to reach 120 credit hours
Total Degree = 120 hours
All program courses must be completed with a C or better.
Major requires 2.75 GPA
All bachelor's degrees require:
GPA of 2.0 on FHSU courses & 2.0 on all coursework (Higher program requirements prevail over the 2.0 when set)
A minimum of 30 hours earned from FHSU with a grade of D, C, B, or A
Successful completion of an upper division Writing and Information Literacy course
A minimum of 45 hours of recognized upper division credit
A minimum of 120 hours of recognized college credit
Passing score on TIGER Teacher Work Sample (TTWS)
The TTWS is one of the evaluations required for graduation and licensure
TEEL 675 enrollment requires tuition plus the TTWS fee
Become familiar with InTASC Standards
Entry GPA: 2.75. Once in the program, candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75.
