Low Incidence Limited Residency License

To apply for the program:

Do not apply to Graduate School until your application to the program has been accepted. KSDE's Low Incidence Limited Residency Licensure program is an approved alternate licensure pathway for candidates not already licensed as a teacher in Kansas. To be accepted through KSDE, candidates must be selected by a school district to be hired as the teacher of record in a low incidence special education classroom in Kansas. Qualified candidates through KSDE must have a bachelor's degree (from a KSDE recognized accredited university) with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on the most recent 60 credit hours and must have at least one year of work experience as a paraprofessional. FHSU’s pathway for achieving licensure to teach low incidence special education through the KSDE alternate route to licensure is called the Limited Residency-Low Incidence Special Education program. It is a two+ year online program, where courses are taken in sequential order.

Entry GPA: 2.5.  Once in the program, candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0. New admissions to this program are only in the summer or fall semesters. No new admissions accepted in the spring semester.
