Something unexpected got added to Galileo’s cafeteria, and I’m sure most of you have noticed. Vending machines! Galileo now has two vending machines near the cafeteria bathrooms. We now have a snack machine and a drink machine. These were added on October 13th, and they have all types of food and drinks, such as Sprite, Monster Energy, cookies, candy, honey buns, etc. You get the point; they have essentially anything you can think of. 

Students are unable to use the vending machines during school hours. However, they are available before the first bell and during after-school hours. 

There are so many options to choose from in the vending machines, but there’s a common favorite across the school: Monster energy drink. This drink has been the main attraction, and so many students love it, such as Nayeli Rivera, Sabina Ahmad, Kaleia Morningstar, and Marley Steele. We aren’t sure if people love this drink in order to help them stay alert during classes, or if it's just for the taste. Nevertheless, people do NOT play about their Monster Energy drinks.

Another positive impact is that the machines have encouraged students to arrive at school earlier. The first week after the machines were added, students were absolutely crowding the area to get to the vending machines. This may seem like a nuisance for some people, but the majority agree that it makes the environment more lively and adds positively to our school atmosphere. 

So, the addition of the vending machines not only gave the students snacks and drinks, but also created a reason for them to be there earlier, whether it was for the snacks or to meet up with friends. It’s safe to say that the vending machines are a good addition to Galileo.
