With Powder Puff coming up, the Coral team has been working hard during practices while also having fun and building connections. Players and coaches are excited to get on the field and compete.
One of the Coral coaches, Mrs. Lowery, who played Powder Puff in high school, said she was excited to experience the game from the coaching side. She said her favorite moments have been seeing the girls have fun and encourage each other. She also believes the game will be competitive because both teams have strong players.
The other coach, Ms. Larking, decided to coach because she thought it would be fun and wanted to make sure the students could have the game. She said practices have been enjoyable, especially seeing the girls have fun and improve their skills. For her, simply being willing to go out and compete is already a win.
Kaleia Morningstar decided to play Powder Puff because she wanted to become more involved during her final year of high school and try something she had been hesitant to do before. Although she was a little nervous before her first practice, she quickly found that she enjoyed getting to know her teammates.
For players like Ava, Powder Puff is also about the people. Ava said her favorite part of practicing has been the connections she has made with others. Her biggest challenge has been staying calm and not getting nervous about the game.
As game day approaches, the Coral team is looking forward to putting their skills to the test. While the coaches aren't focused on predicting a winner, they agree that the experience, competition and fun are what make Powder Puff worth playing. Will they win? Will they lose? Will it end in a tie? Who knowssssssssssssssssssssssss?
