HLTH 80C is a 6.0-unit course for bilingual individuals to develop awareness, knowledge, and skills necessary for effective language interpretation in various settings. Emphasis on  the standards of practice of a healthcare interpreter, active listening, memory development, basic knowledge of common medical conditions, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures, cultural and linguistic competency in the art of interpretation.

This is a hybrid course that includes both in-person and remote sessions. In-person sessions are held at the Ocean Campus, Multi-Use Building (MUB). Remote sessions are held via Zoom videoconferencing.
