Knock-A-Gnome is a 3D VR gnome-smashing simulator using a Roto VR Chair. Players take on the role of a gardener for Geezer Mcgee as they ride their lawn mower through his yard. Along the way they must smash any gnomes for a better paycheck. The lawn mower they ride is on track and rotates dynamically as the player traverses the level.
This experience was run for Fuse 2025 in the Peoria Riverfront Museum as an open VR exhibit for all ages.
This was my second time showcasing an exhibit at Fuse, as well as my first time working in VR on a project. On this project, I led the design team and worked on ensuring the experience was fun and streamlined.
The game being in VR led to a unique design challenge for me and my team, we worked on making a map that looked good, had good gnome distribution, and was fun to traverse. My team also focused a ton on the animation of the gnomes, we spent time in the Unity Animator creating animations for our gnomes that would fit with the map we made.
