  • 2022 Congressional App Challenge - Sponsored by the US Congress, students at MJS are challenged to design and program and app of their own creation in this National design challenge!

  • 2022 Superhero Super Goer Challenge - Madison Makers is teaming up with NJCGTP to offer a STATEWIDE superhero-themed design challenge for students with awesome prizes to be won!

  • 2021 Craft Your Court Design Challenge - Students are being challenged to design the graphics and design for the upcoming MJS' redesign for the new gymnasium court and floor!

  • 2021 To the Moon and Beyond Challenge - Madison Makers have the opportunity to compete in a STATEWIDE space-themed STEM challenge and win awesome prizes!

  • 2020 Cardboard Engineering Challenge - Madison Makers have the opportunity to compete in a STATEWIDE cardboard engineering challenge and win tons of awesome awards and prizes!

  • MJS Trivia Family Night - Back for the 2020-21 school year, MJS' trivia council is launching officially launching Season 2 on Wednesday, September 30th 2020. Sit back and fasten your seatbelts for another year of epic game nights!

  • 2020 May the 4th (be with you) Challenges - May the 4th is here and Mr. E has challenged the Madison Maker community with three Star Wars themed design and coding challenges

  • 2019 MJS Robotics Tournament - The second annual robotics tournament that challenges MJS Students to compete in a series of challenges by programming an EV3 Mindstorms Robot. This event is inspired by the First Robotics Competition League.

  • 2019-20 Aquarium Design Challenge - A competition where students can design and 3D print custom underwater reefs for the aquaponics tank in our aquarium

  • 2019 Family Maker Night - Our makerspace is open for all Madison families! Stop in on Tuesday, April 2nd to make awesome DIY projects with your families! This event is sponsored by the MJS PTO and all proceeds will go towards the MJS Mural Project.

  • 2018 MJS Robotics Tournament - A to be annual tournament that challenges MJS Students to compete in a series of challenges by programming an EV3 Mindstorms Robot. This event is inspired by the First Robotics Competition League.

  • 2016 Hour of Code Challenge - For the 2016 Hour of Code initiative, the entire MJS school will be competing in a full scale offline coding activity to learn more about the importance and use of computer science!

  • The Madison STEAM Academy - Launched in the summer of 2018, the STEAM Academy is a program open to all students in NJ from grades 3-12. With courses in Engineering Design, Computer Science, Multimedia and Design, Woodworking, Entrepreneurship, and General STEAM Challenges, there's something for everyone!

Education First World Tours:

Mr. Erdreich chaperones STEM and service trips all over the world through Education First. Trips are open to 8th grade students at MJS and 9th-11th grade students at MHS. See Mr. E for more information.

  • 2019-2020 World Tour - Panama - It is with our deepest disappointment to announce the 2019-2020 trip to Panama has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. See Mr. E for more information.

  • 2018-2019 World Tour - Peru - For the 2018-2019 school year, we are going to the South American country of Peru! In this service tour, we will tour Peru's beautiful valleys as we learn more about this amazing country.
