Digital Illustration Process

When creating my digital illustration I first had to brainstorm an idea. I took inspiration from the Christmas season and cartoon style animation I like drawing the most. Once I had a clear idea of what my drawing was going to look like, I outlined and sketched the image using the pen tool. Next, I filled in the background sky, elves clothing, and the gingerbread house with the colors I chose. Once all of the scenery and the subject were colored I used the grudge tool to add shading to the picture to give it dimension. The next step I wanted to accomplish was to create a snowing effect and used the grudge tool to give the white color a textured, see through look. The last step I took during the process was cleaning up any stray lines or mistakes by using the pen and eraser to fix those.
