Digital Photography Process

The first step I took that lead to the photograph above was brainstorming ideas for pictures I could take. I sat down with a pencil and paper and listened to music until I got the idea of taking a photo from underneath my Christmas tree. I tried this from many different angles but it just wasn't telling the story that I wanted it to. After that idea was scraped I quickly came up with another one. If I didn't like the first photos because of the fake branches why not go outside and take pictures of real ones? So then my older sister and I went outside and took tons of pictures. First we took photos of the pear tree out front but most of the leaves had fallen off.  I wanted to get the sunset\sunrise but it just wasn’t working out. After that attempt we walked over to the side of our house and took a lot of photos of the three huge evergreen trees we have. The photos we took all looked very nice but none of them really told the story that I wanted them to tell. After all those failed attempts I was very discouraged. Ava and I started back into the house when something caught my eye.  I stopped and looked very closely at the pear tree and saw the simple beauty it conveyed in its bark with its moss and small cracks. I decided that was the picture I wanted. I tried several different angles and realized that the zoomed in option was the best one to show the judges
