Steps to completing YOUR CSS Profile

#1: Complete the FAFSA

#2: Determine IF the school(s) you are interested use the College Board CSS profile (NOTE: UW Madison is requiring the CSS profile starting Fall of 2025) 

#3: Determine the school(s) deadline for the CSS profile

#4: Work with your parent/guardian to gather necessary materials to complete the CSS profile 

• You'll need your most recently completed tax returns, W-2 forms and other records of current year income, records of untaxed income and benefits, assets, and bank statements. 

#5: Sign in and create an account

• Students will need an account 

• Parent/ Guardian will also need an account 

#6: Complete the full application 

#7: Confirm the school(s) has received your CSS profile application 

#8: Receive financial rewards (scholarships, grant, aid) from the school(s) institution
