Apprenticeship Exploration 

Requirements: Apprenticeship requirements depend on the specific apprenticeship entered.  Some apprenticeships are eligible for students age of 16, however most programs require individuals be at least 18. 

Other requirements could include...

1. High School Diploma (specifically a certain number of math, english, and science classes) 

2. Certifications 

3. Work experience 

Some advances apprenticeships may require a college degree (Degree level apprenticeships) 

Helpful Hints: 

1. Do your research! There are a variety of apprenticeship offerings, some even available to start while at LHS. Check in with your counselor, CTE teacher, or our Youth Apprenticeship person at LHS to learn more. 

2. Test out a CTE course! Not sure about getting into an electrician apprenticeship? Make sure to try out some of our great CTE courses to see if you like that type of work. 

3. Check out Youth Apprenticeships! As mentioned above, LHS has a program for students who are interested in which you can start working in an apprenticeships of interest. You do need to be over 16 to get involved, but next year is right around the corner.

4. Xello- LHS main college and career planning database utilized 6th-12th grade. Click explore options, careers, add YOUR own criteria into "more filters", find careers that match YOUR criteria! Save careers of interest!(Click heart)
