When did you last see Rachelle?
I left with her after dinner time and she and I walked back to our rooms together. She wasn't feeling well so I left with her.
Did you enter her room at all? If yes, when?
Not that night, but we hung out together before dinner. I helped her get ready that evening and watched a little t.v. in her room. We went to the dining room together.
Have you been in any recent arguments with Rachelle?
The only argument I ever had with her was that she kept wanting to give money to the group I work for and I said that she should find her own area of interest. I didn't feel right about asking her for money so I never did. We really didn't argue, but she did ask for advice sometimes.
Are you unemployed?
Not at all. I work for DePinto Associates, a Chicago social work agency.
How many drinks did you have last night?
None, I don't drink.
Was Rachelle drunk?
There's really no way she could be. She only had one or two sips of a beer before she started feeling sick to her stomach.
Did Rachelle lose her money?
Not that I knew of.
Did she seem depressed?
Not at all. She just felt a little ill on Saturday, but generally seemed positive.
Who did she have a meeting with, Mr. Clausen?
I don't know much about her financial stuff.
What was Rachelle's big secret?
I don't know, she didn't tell me.
Did you talk with Rachelle about her lottery money?
Like I said, only when she was looking for ideas about how to help people. Most of the people I worked with, when they found out I knew her, wanted me to ask for money, but I never did. We were friends. The money didn't matter to me.
